Hi all,

My jazz has been jutting forwards/shuddering when I am accelerating. Mainly when I am coming off a roundabout onto a high speed road. It seems to be doing this more when my car is hot. Any ideas? It’s been doing this randomly for a while but since I am driving longer to work and back I have noticed the theme of it happing when car is hot.

I recently had it serviced and a new cat converter so don’t think that is the issue. I’ve heard of the transmission additive but don’t want to spend on that if it’s not going to work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Jocko

Welcome. It sounds like your transmission fluid. When was it last changed?

Flush out your auto fluid at least twice and then refill using genuine Honda CVT-F, you will need 2 x 4 litres of fluid to achieve this.

If you want a belt & braces approach add a syringe of Xado EX-120 which I did and haven’t had any problems for 2 years.

Okay thanks! I did get my car serviced a few months ago so I’m assuming they would have changed my transmission fluid? I’ll ring them to ask. It’s been doing this for a while but definitely more as I have have increased my driving since starting a new job

Did they flush and change the fluid?
What fluid did they use?
Was it Honda main dealer or Specialist that did the work?

I’m not sure I would have thought so…. I will have to ring and check with them. It was a garage near me not a Honda dealership so they most likely didn’t use Honda fluid.

I have noticed tho that when my car is in sport mode it doesn’t have any issues. Any ideas why this might be?

If they haven't used genuine Honda CVT-F then that could well be your problem.

Ive heard lot of ppl saying its good, but my Honda friend mechanic said no way to it once when ive asked this question whether I should add it to cure juddering. He then flushed it twice with CVT-F and the problem was gone.

@ukjim I have added the xado syringe however unfortunately it hasn’t made any difference:(

I've just drained the old fluid, replaced it with new CVT-F and a full syringe of xado and all works like a charm, no more juddering, completely gone.

Sorry, i am not the OP, i was just sharing my experience with gearbox judder :)

I didn't go through the trouble of flushing it, just let it drain for a couple of hours with the car jacked only on the driver side, and after 3 hours it stopped dripping.

Levelled the car, filled it with new fluid, making sure i don't go past the max level, added the syringe and that was it.
