I got a service book and handbook in October 2021  ,but read on earlier threads on here that they are no longer issued.I didnt realise this also includes the handbook.    To be fair the handbook is bulky, and inconvenient to keep in the car.   The online version is better, and more comprehensive.   It can be udated, and doesnt involve chopping down trees.   And you can download it to your phone  so you dont need mobile data. (I even have one from a previous  car downloaded as a pdf onto  my kindle!.)

All those reading this have access to the internet.  A few ,mostly older, people may still be totally  avoiding anything to do with the internet, smartphones etc.      To those I say   :P    -ha ha you cant hear me  :P      They will probably really struggle trying to work the cars touch screens, computer technology etc anyway   (and not just them  ;) )

I think the handbook has a part number, so the dealer may be able to provide one if absolutely  necessary, although it may be chargeable and quite expensive. For those without a smartphone it might be cheaper to buy  a cheap one  and if necessary download the manual using free wifi.  And add it to your learning curve. ;D
May I ask to the procedure to download the manual to my (iPhone) phone.
Thanks in advance

Hello,
I connected to the Honda website to see the digital maintenance log, but I did not find much information,
indicates the data of the car the color the number of doors the type of fuel (P I don't know what it means) transmission (A I imagine it will be automatic) ratios (6 I don't understand why this data is automatic) the weight of the car.
It indicates the mileage at which the service was done but does not specifically say what was done and even by whom the maintenance was performed.
It is true that I have everything in paper form (payment invoice with a list of things done to the car).
What do you find written in your digital maintenance register?
P.S
My car is from 2020 and has all the paper booklets (navigator warranty maintenance etc. etc.)

(Sorry for the mistakes I used Google Translate)

I have checked my digital service record and it is exactly the same as yours. No information on what was carried out at the June service. I too have paper record and stamped service book.

Honda doesn’t exactly excel at software, does it?
Hello,
yes a real disappointment, I do not understand what such a thing is for

I've just followed the Honda links and I have no Digital Service Record.

Presumably because I've got a service book ?
Let's be careful out there !

3. For low mileage drivers who now drive < 8k/annum, is it considered better to opt for servicing by date or to use the built in automatic service reminder (assuming it is activated)? Presumably if this works as advertised it should anyway flag up the need for a service and oil change at no greater than 1 year, possibly more frequently given the number of short 3-5 miles journeys we take (I hasten to add less than 3 miles we usually cycle!)

Many thanks in advance for any guidance.
Automatic service reminder follows both date and mileage, so it will ask for service when needed.
If disabled, date and mileage are two separate limits and you must follow the first you reach.
The reason is very simple, oil breaks down both by engine running (heat and unburned fuel) and by chemical action (water vapour, oxidation,  unburned fuel, ...) and the second part is not depending by usage. Oil becomes acid after some time, so it must be changed to prevent corrosion and deposits.
Talkig about oxidation, consider that new unopened oil bottles must be use before 5-6 years, oil breaks down like food.

There is almost certainly a digital service record for your car that Honda U.K. will have. Although car manufacturers are enabling access by customers to digital service records they won’t necessarily offer full access anyway. When I had a Land Rover I registered for digital service history but it wasn’t very helpful, just a summary of when the car had a service. Admittedly that was 4 years ago and things may have changed.

Yes its just a bit unnecessarily annoying all this, isn't it?

Most car owners WOULD PREFER a hard copy record of service and a stamped service book.  Thats what I have on my Crosstar, after the first service.

Our Golf, there's no choice, there's a digital record only, and consequently you always feel as if you havent got a full service record in your folder.  Maybe im pedantic, but thats not a nice feeling.

It's a bit like all this screen operated nonsense for frequent adjustments to temp / fan / climate, in some cars- you need it to be easy and simple, for safety, none of this searching through screen menus for frequent functions - how stupid and retrograde is that?

Paper service records - easy and efficient for the car owner.  For the garage, they can do what they want.  :)

I have just had my Honda Jazz hybrid go through its first annual service.
When I picked it up, I asked the Service reception desk for a copy of what was done.
They photocopied the service checklist for me (as filled out by the mechanic) and it shows all the things that were check + some key stats, e.g. tyre tread depth, quantity and type of engine oil replaced.
I have this at home now for my records.

I recently saw a YouTube review of the Crosstar where the (young) reviewer plugged in some MP4 tracks on a USB stick and merrily blasted out some music at high volume with plenty of bass! Each to their own.

Is it possible to give the link of this you tube video?

There is no wheel well in the Mk4. The HV battery uses that area.

Whether a spare would fit on top with the seats raised I haven't measured.
Let's be careful out there !

Travis, could you please post a picture of your spare wheel, flat in your boot?
I am very curious/interested!
