Relays
« on: June 20, 2022, 07:44:55 AM »
The electric windows all stopped working at the same time. Fuse seems ok. Where are the relays?
Help appreciated!

Sorry, I dont know. But they are often under the same cover as the fuses.  Little plug in box things .

But the reason I posted  is that sometimes   the relays used for other circuits, such as  the horn,  are identical.
Temporarily swopping them over might  help confirm the relay is faulty rather than buying one you may not need.
But make sure they are identical,  you dont want to end up breaking something else  . >:(
Sometimes mechnical relays can jam . Moving them ,or giving the relay a light tap or a  shake might unjam it and it will work again. But this is just a temporary fix,  it should be replaced.

But they are not expensive so it might not be worth messing about like this.    :-[

Is there any harm in pulling out the relays when you don't know which one did which job?
My rear wiper doesn't work and the front window washer stopped working too!
