Infotainment software update?
« on: May 07, 2022, 01:02:05 PM »
Hi All new to the forums I've had my 2018 1.5 sport for just over a year now (brought as a restored CAT N no issues) and had been driving a basic 2017 citroen berlingo for work and have found the apple car play features extremely useful.

Looking into it and talking to my local friendly honda dealership the mk3 jazz has the hardware capability but to save on cost the software uses a very old  android version 4.0.4.

Is anyone aware of a software update for the stero that gives the car apple car play and android auto capability as my local honda dealer has said if i can find one he'd be more than willing to check it and install on my car if i was willing to be a guinea pig and resore it if anything went wrong.

4.0.4 is the version in all 9G Civics from 2016.

It has been looked at by enthusiasts on places like XDA-Developers and it can be done but it's risky.
Let's be careful out there !

I looked into this a while ago as I'm also keen to do this but everywhere I looked the answer was no it cannot be updated.

If you find a way to update it, do come back and share!  :)

This looks extremely complicated and risky, as I said.

This was aimed at the 9G Honda Civic headunit 2016/2017 so may not be the same but gives an idea.

Update OR Re-load ???

My 2017 Jazz EX exhibits symptoms of having been overtaken by the MklV (i.e. Mk111(B)) The switching logic of the Set/Reset buttons is not consistent throughout the rage of functions.

Following a personal accident and Hospitalisation my Dealer re-set my handbrake cable to Nine (9) clicks - in a four year old car?

Any help or advice would be appreciated TiA     Stu.
