I've got the flaps but even the slightest bit of damp and the rear cops it.

The sides seem to miss the worst though.
Let's be careful out there !

I’m hoping in heavy rain it keeps the side mirrors clearer.

I regularly have to use the heated mirrors to remove rain as it seems to collect water there.

The mud flaps do help a bit on the sides.

Overall they seem to reduce the water/dirt thrown up to a finer spray that’s easier to clean off.

However, the fine spray on the rear window in heavy rain means you need to have the rear wiper on constantly to be able to see out.

Fortunately I'm in a position to only go out when I want to.

Rain or dirty roads = it stays in the garage.
Let's be careful out there !

My white car is currently sahara sand coloured, evenly spread last night   I was going to wash it yesterday ,but decided not to bother. :P

I have just ordered some Turtle wax hybrid ceramic stuff on line  (2 quid cheaper than Halfrauds)  . My hope is the improved beading properties will help stop the dirt sticking as readily.

I don't really care if my umbrella got wet when I was walking in the rain.
I also don't care if my rain suit got wet and dirty when I was biking in bad weather.

And I'm even happy that my Jazz got wet and dirty and not me, if I had to go outside in bad weather and wasn't walking or riding my bike.

It was £15.99 in my local Halfords store.   (reduced from about £18 IIRC)    Cheapest I found on Amazon was £14  and also £14 on Fleabay,
The ebay seller appear to be turtlewax europe  Ltd.  .  £14 for 1  or £12.60 each for 2   (free delivery)
No luck  finding an £8 reduction   >:(

...Are we talking about the same thing?

No    .  I meant this spray coating. Claimed to last up to 12 months.  I got mine on ebay with free postage as I dont have amazon prime.

To me wash and wax implies washing the car. Something I like to avoid as much as possible  :P

No, to my mind the above, is a more Expensive/Labour intensive, way of achieving the same result.
I have been using the Ceramic Wash & Wax version for the last 6 weeks or so and can highly recommend it.
I just use the same method as my older products, namely I don't prewash, I wash the car as normal with a sponge and then hose off, leaving the car on the drive to dry off.
This product leaves a much higher gloss finish and also keeps the car much cleaner, particularly the rear and the sides.
Well worth the money, in spite of the fact that I paid Halfords prices!

I achieve a similar result but with Meguiars waterless wash. I used to use Mantis with carnauba wax but JML stopped producing it.

After washing I drop a microfibre on the bonnet and it stays there. After finishing off with the waterless wash, used as a wax, drop the microfibre and it slides off.

As you say, it does help repel the dirt.
Let's be careful out there !
