Return to Honda
« on: October 06, 2021, 03:25:12 PM »
Hi everyone,
defected to Ford for 2 years with very nice to drive Fiesta ST Line X.
Having test driven a Crosstar was very impressed and comfortable. One of the things I found useful was the brake hold when stopped at junctions etc with no need to pull handbrake, set hill start etc, just the simple acceleration away makes life a lot better
Getting in and out compared to Fiesta of course much easier and the return to 4 doors much better.
I was in this forum many years ago and look forward to the help and guidance given by many.

Congratulations!   The Crosstar looks like a good option and that colour combo I think is very good - please do post an photo. I’ve just received the non-crosstar grey EX as that was the best option available for my price and timescale

Welcome to the forum.  :D

Mrs W would like a Fiesta ST. She is a bit of a speed merchant, and the Jazz doesn't really do acceleration.

I have no idea how they compare to a Fiesta ST but the MK4 has pretty good acceleration. It makes no fuss about it, unlike an ST.

The Fiesta ST is different driving style and the turbo makes an enormous difference to acceleration and driving 'sensation'
Much to recommend it, but I have decided I do not need that thrill which can easily lead you into scary bits!

Exactly my thoughts.

I've slowed down a lot over the last decade or 2 and  I prefer a smoother drive.

Honda reliability just adds to the pleasure.
Let's be careful out there !

Had the car now for 4 days and have a renewed liking for driving.

Made easy by this car's drive system, visibility and general comfort with a feeling of refinement thrown in.

The ease of motion, stopping and pulling away with no left hand or foot involvement together with the brake hold is a change that adds so much to the ease of driving.

Could say some things missing but overall such a delight to become a HONDA owner again.
