As I said, I'm lazy

Clip it on, press the button, wait for it to cut out, job done
Let's be careful out there !

All I can think of is that when I checked and adjusted the tyres almost a fortnight ago, I must have introduced something into the valve, and it has been slowly leaking. Pumping up today must have cleared it.

Quite possible, a bit of dirt, or perhaps the insert just didn't seat properly. Just keep an eye on it.

Very tempted by one of these. I do like a gadget but, seriously, it's a bit of a faff checking and inflating tyres manually in the winter.

A few years ago, with a previous car, I checked the tyres the day before an airport trip to go on holiday. Went out to load the luggage the next day to find one tyre nearly flat. Car hadn't moved so very unlikely to be a puncture. Pumped it up again with a footpump, left early, and stopped at Kwik-Fit on the way. They changed the valve (don't think they actually charged anything either); best guess was either a bit of grit had got in or the valve hadn't seated properly after checking the pressures. No problems thereafter, but didn't really need that when on a timetable to get to the airport!

Has anyone used the pump that comes with the sealant kit that honda provide to add air to the tyres.

I use the compressor that comes with the sealant kit regularly on cars & pushbikes,
I even bought an identical spare one 2nd hand on Ebay for my other car, I don't think
the sealant is much use but the compressor is great.

Not convinced my leak has gone away, as a check this morning showed a pound less than yesterday. It might just have been the lower temperature (3°C as against yesterday's 12°C). My top up this morning, at 50.8 mpg, reflects the effect of the softening tyre.

Can you lift that corner and rotate the wheel to check for a nail/screw or whatever may have got in

Well, you lose about 1.5 psi for every 10°C drop at 30 psi, so that would be about right.

The wheel was off, and the tyre fitter and I examined it and tried it in the water bath. Nothing.

All four tyres should have been lower by the same amount, if it is temperature related?

Good thinking Batman. Did Jocko just check the suspect wheel?  ;)

That is precisely what I did. No idea what the other tyres would indicate with the RaceX gauge.

To be fair, I think I would have done the same. Wouldn't have given it a thought.
