2002 radio problems
« on: September 05, 2010, 09:43:52 PM »
Hello All

Has any one had any problems with the radio buttons not working on a 2002 Jazz.

When you change from CD to radio none of the buttons work on the radio like:-
tune a radio station in,
buttons 1-6 for pre set station
and there is no sound what so ever
but when you change back to the CD player all the buttons work you get sound.

Is it time for a new radio?

Regards

Ant

I have a problem which I assume is the same. CD works, but radio don't. The panel shows a radio station, but no sound. Turning the volume knob to max, I hear a beep, so speakers are functional. If I press a preset button for more than 2 seconds, I hear a beep, but nothing changes.

The buttons works, since I can adjust the clock etc. So it seems the radio per itself is locked up somehow.

Any ways to reset the radio?

Thanks

A similar (but not the same) problem....

The radio won't allow you to change stations using the preset buttons or the up/down control on the steering wheel during a traffic announcement (TA) unless you press the FM/AM button (or MODE on the steering wheel). This can cause problems because some radio stations (ahem...Heart Sussex...ahem  ;)) have been known not to switch off the traffic announcement after the bulletin, or switch it on randomly during songs. Sometimes it's not obvious the radio station is broadcasting a TA when the TA kicks in as the radio only displays "TA-INFO" briefly before changing to the station name and doesn't always change the volume during a TA.
