Clicky clunky gear shift
« on: May 01, 2018, 11:22:49 AM »
Hi,

Just have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have a 2014 Jazz 1.5MT, with 70,000km. I recently bought the car and I am starting to notice the gear shift is quite noisy when changing gears - knocking about a bit and making clicking noises when changing gear, noise is coming from the gear shift in the centre console. Once in gear the car is fine.  Overall feels clunky and like a switch, rather than smooth.

Im wondering could it be the bushing at the base of the gear shift?  Are these typically a universal part?  Is there a manual shift adjustment these cars need?

Hi nichos
I find my gearchange a bit "clunky" as well.
Mines done just ovr 38,000 miles and a "13"reg.
I had the Honda CRV before and the gearchange was very smooth.
I would imagine if its going into gear ok and there are no "crunching"or "grinding" noises,I reckon it should be ok.
