Number plate lights not working.

I noticed today both my number plate lights are not working. Both bulbs are good, all other lights are working. Any ideas. In the past I had two wires repaired that route through rubber grommet between tailgate and bookwork, that fixed the boot light. Maybe another wire in there is open circuit.
