So why did I only start getting the map update message in November?

Because you do get strange messages occasionally, I had on the E a few months ago, only to go to the Garmin software saying you have the latest map.

I've just been informed the search bug has been fixed
Thank you! I've just completed the upgrade to the 2024.11 maps. The search function is working as well  8)

Just updated the USB, will pop it into the car tomorrow and hopefully it fixes mine too.

I have problems updating to the newly released bugfix update. My computer says that there are no updates. Maybe someone can help me debug this.

I performed the update to 2024.11 a couple days ago.
I had the crashing search on the second character issue.
I saw Kremmen's message about a new update, fixing the issue.
Today I removed the Garmin files from my USB stick and plugged it in the car, initiating a new update.
I returned to the PC, Garmin Express says it cannot find any updates, my 2024.11 maps are up to date.

My question for people who managed to update is: did you receive a new version (like 2024.11.1 or 2024.12)?
Is there a way to reverse the updates (remove the maps from the car) in order to force an update to (hopefully correct) 2024.11?

Thank you for your help,
Dan.

Hi forumache,
You won't get a new version, Garmin Express will say that there's no update.
under "kaartopties" there's the option "installeer kaart opnieuw" (dutch garmin express version)
so -> empty USB stick -> to the car -> PC with garmin express -> reinstall card -> back to the car  :)

Forumache

I asked the technician about removing the bugged map and setting it back to the last good map, but apparently the latest map replaces the last one... therefore the last good map isn't in your system anymore.

Hi Dan, my situation was a bit different to yours: As I had a heads-up from this thread that the original 2024.11 update was broken, I waited until the all-clear message from Kremmen.
So I did a "clean" update directly from the 2023.xx map.

Would I need to update my December 23 Jazz's Sat Nag? (yes, I am going to give it a go but not unless its up to date)

... and yes my SatNag was out of date, so downloading it now. 2h17m to go (maybe)

EDIT:- 2ish hours later and its all installed on the cars SatNag. All I have to do now is figure out how it works  ::)

Oh joy. Reinstalled the 2024 map onto the stick last night, bunged it in the car this morning and drove around for 20 minutes whilst it installed... and voila! No bug, and works fine now. Cancelled dealer appointment for tomorrow  ;D

Thank you guys for your help!

Following the advice of Wasabi79, I've forced Garmin Express to download the chart again (going to "Map options" under 2024.11).

Now I can search and even find results :)  Hilversum is found both with the normal spelling and with Xi Er Fu Se Mu spelling :))))

Once again my Jazz Crosstar is telling me I need to update the Garmin SatNav but having followed the instructions re USB stick and downloading Garmin Express, the latter tells me "No Updates Available Up-to-date Maps Map: BEV Europe 2024.11"

Can someone tell me what's going on?  I should add that I KNOW the maps are out of date as I've recently made several trips where roads which I know have been in existence for at least three years are not showing on the SatNav.

On a related note does anyone know if Garmin can supply, at a price, SatNav update that includes traffic data?

Just had a look and have update ticks for both cars. Needed a pc update on express so did that, and still have ticks which when you click on the car says for both no updates available - so they do have a bug in the system.
