New Honda Drivers Front Wiper missing parts of wipe
« on: December 13, 2020, 10:24:17 PM »
Just replaced passenger side front wiper blade as previous one was juddering (not bad for 2 yrs old). Fitted genuine Honda, as always from Cox Motor Spares, and judder gone and wipe is great. Decided to change Drivers side as of the same age. Again fitted brand new genuine Honda blade. Blade misses large patch with top tip of blade and a patch in the middle of the blade. Never had problems with Honda blades. Swapped back to used blade and wipe is perfect. Any idea why new blade is missing on wipe, any suggestion on how to fix or could it be a faulty blade. It appears to be same curve etc as old blade and everything looks ok. Will carry on with old blade for now.

was it on the right way round or can't you reverse these new style all in one wipers ?

i have not looked closely at my blades yet to see what kind of connector they have

I replaced my ageing blades with Bosch Aerotwins a while ago.

I can understand why owners give them good reviews. Not a single issue, they wipe well and are silent.
Let's be careful out there !

If you can’t see anything wrong with it, try wiping along the blade with a little detergent to remove any grease.

I don't think new blades should need treating or modifying in any way, I'd be looking to return it for a refund or replacement as it sounds like a duff one from your description.

It may be the arm which is bent or distorted.

Think I'd agree with Harry. Speak to Cox and see what they say. If the NS was OK, but the OS is not, then get a replacment or refund. Be interested to see how Cox deal with the issue.

Agree, and damage in transit is certainly a possibility.

Are these later ones aero types, or hybrid with the pivoting metal arms?

The wiper arm is straight, existing blade works fine but is 2 years old. Contacted Cox for advice. They are sending me a replacement blade! Wow what fantastic customer service. Have bought previously from Cox and can get genuine Honda parts cheaper than my local main agent and delivery is usually faster than local dealer can do. Cox are well worth ordering Honda parts from and have given very useful advice in the past, even if it didn't involve a sale. VERY, VERY GOOD COMPANY TO BUY FROM.

Pleased they are sorting it out for you. A glowing recommendation for COX and good to know for all of us Honda owners.  :)
