Honda HR-V to make debut at Paris Motor Show
« on: September 13, 2014, 02:46:30 PM »

Honda's Jazz-based crossover SUV will be called HR-V and will make its debut at next month's Paris Motor Show. Like the Jazz, the fuel tank is located under the front seats to create the Magic Seat flexibility system and a completely flat load space.

Honda has yet to announce the engine line-up which may include the 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine from the Civic. Sales start early next year with the HR-V taking on rivals in a growing segment including the Nissan Juke, Vauxhall Mokka, Ford EcoSport and Renault Captur.

  • My Honda: 2009 1.4 EX Manual - gone to a family member. Still look after it, and a 2014 EX driven by daughter.

Could suit us perfectly.  With toddler grandchildren in car seats the rear legroom in Jazz is a bit limited  - new Jazz, already out in the US, has more legroom but a smaller boot.  HR-V apparently has much bigger boot.

A slightly bigger (or at least more powerful) petrol engine would be handy.  Don't like diesels on a car used for local use and the tide is turning against diesels generally.

Honda UK has a small page about the HR-V:

Thanks - not sure how long that's been there but I registered a few days ago.

I really, really hope they don't put stupid big diamond cut wheels and very low profile tyres on it!

As expected - looks like it's on the currently fashionable stupidly low profile tyres.

Yet they've still managed to make the wheel/tyre combination look too small for the arches - even bearing in mind it's an SUV style vehicle.
