Replacement Jazz goes for a run
« on: August 31, 2019, 12:07:44 PM »
So yesterday i gave the car a good run out - sadly the need for the journey was due to the passing of my brother in law who lived in Halifax.

Took my wife and two sons from home near Witney in Oxon up to Elland, and then on the return trip had to come home via Worcester to drop one of the boys off as he lives there.

The car managed just fine, although with four adults on board I did notice the difference in acceleration and on uphill sections.

The average MPG for the trip was 49.4  ( total mileage for the trip was 425) and most of this journey was on the motorways, a steady 3.5k rpm at 70 mph.

Also this was a good opportunity to see how the newly installed LED's would fare, and I stand by my view that they are certainly worth the investment. In particular the last part of the journey from Worcester to home was mainly on A and B  roads and not once did I find myself being flashed by oncoming traffic.

All in all it's a competent little car, and I'm glad I bought it.

That's good mpg.  I recently did a longish trip to Wales four up and found it was fine too. Just needed a bit more revs.

Or is it? What do you think?

Sorry you had to made that journey. Did you use premium petrol because when I did a long trip like that I used V-POWER and that's when I discovered the difference.

Thanks - I did, and managed to get the mpg up from 45.2 to 49.4.

Will be interesting to see how it holds up on the shorter 10 mile journey to work which is on a mixture of A and B roads.
