This evening I watched the launch of SpaceX's Crew Dragon. I have never been so excited about watching a space launch since the days of the early Apollo missions. And to see how quickly and successfully the booster landed back on the pickup drone barge. Brilliant. Cheered me up to see adventure back again.

Incredible broadcast! Better than any TV!
Watched from Suited-up until around midnight yesterday & the Docking from around 12:30 until they went off air on the Space Staion around 7pm tonight.

Just happened to be channel hopping this afternoon and stumbled upon the docking on BBC News. Looked very slick indeed!

I had forgotten about the booster landing on a barge being part of the process. I recall that it took a few attempts to get it working. Like flying a plane, it's relatively easy to take off but landing needs a bit of skill. And getting a rocket to land right way up must be somewhat more difficult.
