My first mod was 15 inch cades eros wheels, i was really happy that day. Then came the k57i, gave it a little more grunt

after a while i became unsatisfied with the gap between the arches so bought myself a set of eibach lowering springs which tidied it it up a bit.

still in search of that perfect gap between the arch and tyre i reluctantly handed over a load of money for a set of bc v1 coilovers. I'm glad i did now  :)

Aparrently the rear is as low as it will go according to the guy at the garage but I'm not so sure as I've seen other jazz's lower. Arches need to be rolled as they rub during fast cornering.

Ive got a mugen spoiler on the way from japan at the mo so that will go on as soon as it arrives. Full custom exhaust will be next on the agenda, well after having arches rolled that is.

Hope you've liked the pics!

Your rear springs are upside down. The metal cup sits at the top, not the bottom.

Thanks Gary and cheers for the info pneuma, it's going back to the garage 1st thing in the morning. Just out of interest, how much money and work would it of been to turbocharge your jazz if you had went through with it?

Post by: guest1817 on June 17, 2013, 09:16:37 AM
Nice car dude. I like the mods so far, I too didnt know the rear spring cup sits at the top and not the bottom, im sure mine is at the bottom too!

As for you headunit, what choice is that? And where did you buy the new plastic dash surround thing to cover the gap? Its something ive been looking into, but not done yet.
Title: Re: my gd1 sport in the making
Post by: guest4007 on June 18, 2013, 01:16:56 AM
Cheers Danny , head unit is a pioneer fh-x700bt. I bought the facia adapter from eBay, think it cost about £140. You'll also need an adapter to connect your new head unit to your stereo harness which came from eBay too for £30. I only intended to change the stereo but one thing led to another and ended up upgrading the whole system lol sounds nice though  :)
Title: Re: my gd1 sport in the making
Post by: guest1817 on June 19, 2013, 01:57:13 PM

Thanks for the info. I really like the look of that unit.  The price seems to range massively though huh? CarAudioSecurity who i usually use wants 140+del for it, but they are selling it on ebay for 122 delivered.

I think i might have to convince the boss to let me have a new unit, and promise her im only upgrading the stereo haha (like that will happen)

I'll be selling my genuine honda fascia if people are interested? Genuine ones new from honda are only £80!
Title: Re: my gd1 sport in the making
Post by: guest4007 on June 20, 2013, 01:18:25 AM
This is true, I bought mine from eBay for 125 but it didn't come with a cage and most likely the cage that comes with the head unit won't fit. The one from C.A.S for 140 is probably a full kit so it will save you from buying one after. Halfords do a kit for the same price, I had no idea you could get facia kits from honda but if you can then go there or if pneuma is selling his you've bagged yourself a bargain.

after putting the car on coils i was happy it was low but something was bugging me about the front end. I looked online for front splitters but wasn't very successful. One day I came across a J's Racing splitter so I emailed them and shortly got a reply saying it would be £250, I was happy with that until i found out i would have to pay the same again for shipping so that was out of the question. I decided to try and fabricate one out of fibre glass which started going well but had to bail on that as the amount of materials needed would of cost a fair bit.

There's a trend in the U.S with using garage door seal as a splitter, after seeing this I thought i'd give it a go. It was a bit floppy when i firs put it on so i reenforced the underside with some left over glass fibre. Its actually not bad for less than £35 lol

I really like the spoiler dude, More angles of that required please!

As for your front splitter, im unsure about that, i too like the idea of the J's racing type, but the expense put me off too.

Title: Re: my gd1 sport in the making
Post by: guest4007 on August 13, 2013, 10:30:19 PM
Cheers mate, will post more pics when I get a chance to take some. The uk is pretty lame for modifications for the jazz. The U.S has a great selection at cheap prices but we'd get stung on shipping charges. As for my splitter, not sure if ill be keeping it on for much longer because I keep tearing chunks out of it on the floor lol. But it was worth a try.

That is a very cool car! Classy, too. WOW! I've always thought there is something about the Jazz/Fit (GD and GE) so that it could 'mod' to look exceptional.

Looks good. Like that front splitter but not too keen on that rear spoiler.

Any performance mods and have they made any difference?
Title: Re: my gd1 sport in the making
Post by: guest4007 on January 14, 2014, 06:53:29 PM
Thanks for the kind comments guys, I bought that spoiler with the intention of having something subtle but lets face it , with fat polished wheels sticking out the side, being so low and having a loud exhaust its not really subtle anymore so I think a change of spoiler is in mind to go with the rest of the look lol

Only performance mods would be the induction kit and cat back exhaust which don't make that much difference and if it does its barely noticable.

Lip really sets it off  :)
