Insurance query....new Jazz EX listed as old model Sport
« on: February 12, 2010, 02:52:36 PM »
Here's a general query. When I was insuring my GE (October 2008) Jazz EX, I found that some insurers had it mistakenly listed as the older model Jazz Sport of the same age, which was considerably cheaper to insure than the EX (when I corrected their mistake). Why would that be? Is it:

 * Newer model: unknown risks.
 * Better spec, so greater repair costs.

or some other reason?

I couldn't really comment on another insurance companies vehicle rating, however I checked the ABI's website for the grouping and his new shape model EX is a group 5 where as the older shape model Sport is only a 4 so if they use these group it probably would explain the difference.

Cheers.

Daniel.
