Sat Nav woes

How do you use the sat nav to visit a town you haven't been to before for shopping etc?  With a TomTom you put in the town name and then select 'Town Centre' when you don't know any road names.  I couldn't find anything similar with my 2018 Jazz, after the town name it just insists on a road name and number so I tried 1 High St after the town name, as many towns have one, but this town didn't and the sat nav didn't tell me, it just took me to my nearest High St!!!  From home you can search google for the town, map and soon get any info you want for putting into the sat nav but not possible when out and about without a phone!

On my Garmin 1490 (and my previous garmin streetpilot ) you can select a town and 'search nearby' - this includes shops and shopping centres - then you can save to favourites - seems it is better to get use a separate satnav rather than have a built in one (separate satnavs seem to be easier and a lot cheaper to update as well,  and you can move it between different cars or even take it in your pocket and use 'pedestrian mode').
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot

A city centre can be searched for by selecting Search Near > a different town > categories > Cities

It listed a n the Honda Connect FAQ document
