Honda & Other Honda Models / Re: Honda has first annual loss in 70 years

Due to the misjudgment regarding the popularity of EV vehicles, Honda has stopped development of many new EVs, and instead is putting more effort to hybrid vehicles (like Toyota)  and extended the production of many current pure piston engine models for several years in US markets.

Will the hybrid have an auto gearbox? :(
Defenitely yes. There is no way to make full hybrid with manual gearbox. Being Toyota, it most likely have a further improved variant of their mechano-electric variable transmission, which by the way even in currently produced form is quite clever and seamlessly working piece of engineering.

If there is too much oxygen and unburnt fuel, that makes me think that it is not burning the fuel properly. Does your engine have dual ignition? Have you checked spark plugs and ignition coils?

Very sorry to hear of your loss. My brother died suddenly not so long ago during a bad spell of mishaps, so I truly sympathise. . It’s a bit trite to say it but metal can be replaced, people can’t. I hope you obtain a fair settlement and find another car that gives you good service. Sometimes when one thing goes wrong after another, the wheel of fortune turns and provides a spell of good fortune. I hope that proves to be your experience.

UPDATE

So, I was surprised they offered me £1260 to be honest, despite it being not enough to get a decent car. I know my car, how it drives, how it performs and that it seems to have nothing that would stop me doing long journeys because of undeclared issues with a second hand car.

So, the story has progressed. My older brother, who I had gone down to see, ended up being taken into hospital and I was given a Mazda 3 to drive. Honestly, I really have not got on with it. Too wide, too low, and it shouts at me all the time. Because of this, I was not comfortable driving the 160 miles back down to be with my brother this Monday, when my brother took his last breath.

The emotional distress this accident has caused is unbelievable. The insurance has, after I refused the first offer, offered £1300, but despite saying I could still dispute it, they have applied to get the money off the other insurers, who may dispute it, without me accepting it.

I now have an issue that I need a vehicle for the funeral and my brother's solicitor has suggested hiring a vehicle for a month until probate is through.

The only upside, if you can call it that, is I will be able to eventually, purchase a newer Jazz from Honda. My brother helped my buy the last one, it's what he  would want.

Sorry for offloading. Perhaps I am just showing you the flip side of what would be classed as a minor accident. The consequences of the Audi driver not paying attention for a few seconds have put me in a horrible situation and missing a life changing moment I can never get back.

I have strong opinions about insurers ripping us all off. In particular, how they have developed well established arrangements with claims management firms and recovery companies to grab your damaged car asap as a valuable asset and write it off even with minimal damage. If immediately after an accident where no one is injured and you have been shunted in the back with only minor or modest damage, I have employed a different tactic (three times) successfully with previous cars. The following doesn’t apply where the fault of the accident isn’t clear cut.

Thank you. I totally agree. My only issue was I was 160 miles from home and no-one I knew could pick me up for some hours.

My 2007 Jazz was written off with less damage.

Threads keep disappearing off this forum because they are not specifically about the Mk4 Jazz but are of interest or concern to Mk4 Jazz drivers, but this one and similar remain. This is about the Mk5 Jazz.  Goodbye thread >:(
