Rust on Jazz.
« on: February 14, 2014, 05:30:42 PM »

Never really noticed it much.  However this week I have had a look at a few 2004 and 5 plates while on ramps.
Quite surprised to see rust setting in at floor and subframe sections. Brake pipes were horrid as well. Are guys getting this down south too?
Not as bad as Ford maybe, but this one will be getting Dinitrol hard surfaced on floor underside and cavity wax inside box sections in spring .
I hate rusty cars and rusty fixings.

My '05 was a Scots car until last year, and had a hard life. It does have some superficial rusting underneath which I squirted with Waxoyl last autumn. Otherwise, there is a first sign on the bottom of a rear door and around the tailgate trim/handle of rusting at 100k miles.

Hi Interlock.
I looked at the tailgate on this 10 plate of mine.  It just looks like it may want to rust.
Those cars I looked at on ramps, I never checked miles.  Probably hard use as well I imagine. Those winters of 10 and 11 never done our cars any favours.

It is build quality as well of course.  I have another car at 11 yrs old and is like new underneath.  Surprisingly, it is French!!.   Mind you, someone was rich or stupid enough to pay £32k for it new!
