Honda Jazz Mk1 2002-2008 / Intermittent shake,rattle,noise
« Last post by Sharon on Today at 04:58:51 PM »Hi all, please can you have a listen to this video. You may need to turn it up.
When foot not on accelerator pedal there's a kind of rattle sound from the engine. Can hear it when idling but as soon as you press the pedal, however lightly, it stops. It's not a loud rattle, but its there. The sound is there as soon as this vid starts but you will see I gently touch the accelerator and it stops, coming back when I step off.
Someone suggested possible loose exhaust heat shield?
I've just had an MOT and this was picked up ...
"Central front exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases, joint blowing very slightly".
Does that tie in?

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: Downgrading the "Display Audio System" to the standard "Colour Audio System"
« Last post by DoubleJazz on Today at 04:34:43 PM »Thanks all for your replies so far.
Re-reading my original post, I should be clearer about what I'm considering.
I've attached a photo of the radio I currently have installed, along with an attachment of the "downgrade" that I would like to install.
It doesn't appear anyone has done this from what I can see from the replies so far?
If anyone has, it would be good to understand if you lost any meaningful functionality.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: Jazz MK3 EX (2017) windscreen washers.
« Last post by Lord Voltermore on Today at 04:15:49 PM »If the jet pressure and flow seems good but the aim is wrong would new jets necessarily change the aim angle? They may be made by the same manufacturer, possibly even on the same machine, and will be clipped into the existing mount.
I've never done the job on a mk3 but is it not possible to maybe bend the mounts slightly , or use some sort of shim or gasket when fitting the jet to slightly alter the angle it seats in the mount?
If there is any chance the jet pressure is not 100% good you could try the following. See if you can disconnect the water pipe somewhere between the pump and the jets and try to blow a mouth full of water up the pipe towards the jets . Blow as hard as you can but be careful not to do yourself a mischief.
. If you get a better flow and aim from the jets than you do from the pump that may be the source of the problem. I have done this on a Corsa with success . I was able to diagnose that the filter inside the washer bottle which protects the pump was clogged with algae. Alternatively you might conclude you should be getting a better spray from your blowing in which case the jets may be partially blocked. If you get no spray at all from blowing its not conclusive proof of a problem or blockage , it might just not be humanly possible with a Jazz. Beware of getting washer fluid in your mouth . Its tastes horrible

Honda & Other Honda Models / Re: Honda has first annual loss in 70 years
« Last post by John Ratsey on Today at 03:19:09 PM »I think Honda get some credit under the zev mandate for selling full hybrids and I believe they can also buy credits from other EV manufacturers who exceed the target. There's also a place for efficient hybrids for some years to come, particularly for those who don't have easy access to cheap off-peak electricity for charging. Running an EV on day-time public chargers costs more than putting fuel in a tank which might explain why there's a good supply of slightly used EVs.
Honda hasn't helped themseves achieve EV sales targets by offering expensive vehicles. The E:Ny1 is expensive for something made in China. Honda claim that the Super-N will have more attractive pricing and, perhaps, will find a place in the market where it accumulates sales. IMHO the obvious use for EVs is the urban run-arounds and not motorway cruisers.
It's interesting that, at the moment, UK is the only place where Honda plan to sell the Super-N in addition to Japan so I would hope that they will try hard to sell it. Japan and UK (and a few other countries) have the steering wheel and pedals on the right side so they can avoid the cost of re-engineering (which is why the Japanese manufacturers originally sold vehicles in UK before the rest of Europe).

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: Jazz MK3 EX (2017) windscreen washers.
« Last post by HW12 on Today at 03:01:56 PM »Hi Colin. Many thanks for your prompt reply. Following thorough cleaning for limescale and build-up of detergent, I can unclip jets from their mounts and spray water 12 feet plus, so I don't think pressure is the problem. However, on re-mounting in the fixed position, the jets still only spray the very bottom of the windscreen.
I have just called another Honda garage who confirmed jets aren't adjustable and would be happy to sell me two new jets at £50.00 + vat! I might just try ebay.

« Last post by No Vice on Today at 01:06:15 PM »Gracias, Chano ! Vivo en Tenerife.
I wonder if we have different versions of the head unit. My Crosstar dates from April 28th 2026. Today I hope to try my ipod, and copies on pendrive in Flac and MP3 today.
I´ll let you know how it goes.
Chris

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Re: Jazz MK3 EX (2017) windscreen washers.
« Last post by ColinB on Today at 12:32:10 PM »I had this last year, and fixed it by replacing the jets. I think it was caused by using tap water to dilute the screen wash, which eventually resulted in the jets scaling up. You might be able to descale the jets, but they're a bit intricate and you can't easily see if all the gunk has gone. I had previously had to replace the NR valve on the rear washer for the same reason. Lesson learnt, de-ionised water from now on.

Honda Jazz Mk3 2015-2020 / Jazz MK3 EX (2017) windscreen washers.
« Last post by HW12 on Today at 11:17:16 AM »The windscreen washers have been abysmal since purchasing last year, just about (but not always) reaching the wipers in their parked position. Honda informed me jets were not adjustable, so I stripped down and cleaned jets. Good pressure, but still only reach below the wipers parked position. Has anyone experienced this problem? Many thanks.

Honda Jazz Mk1 2002-2008 / Re: CIGAR LIGHTER SCOKET
« Last post by Lord Voltermore on Today at 09:40:52 AM »You can buy replacement 'lighter' sockets for less than £3. If its replacing a faulty one most of the hard work is already done -such as cutting a hole ,wiring etc (although sometimes you might need to attach the wire by soldering. )
They can also be used to add a second socket,, which in some situations may be a better option than using twin socket adapters etc. But you have to be careful not to overload the wiring by running two sockets, capable of drawing 20 amps each, from just one supply wire.. You might take care not to overload the sockets but a subsequent owner might plug in high amp items such as tyre pumps, electric cool boxes etc .
