TAKATA airbag recall
« on: July 19, 2023, 06:04:17 PM »
Hi,

I own a 2007 Jazz and just got a letter in the post saying that there is an urgent airbag recall and I should contact my local Honda dealer to get it replaced free of charge.

Kinda strange (at least to me). Did a little googling and seems legit. Anyone else got one?

A while back, when I had my 2006 Jazz, I had mine done then they did a recall on the recall. The first time they replaced the driver's side but replaced the passenger side with a new Takata as airbags were in short supply. Last year they replaced the passenger side with the new airbag. I was given a courtesy car for the first job.

I had the same letter from Honda on what seemed like a monthly basis throughout 2021 and 2022 until I finally booked my car in at my local Honda dealer. They replaced both driver and passenger airbags along with the drivers side window switch panel (subject to an earlier recall apparently). They did the work in a few hours.

I had the switch panel replaced at the same time they did the first airbags switch.
