Cheap insurance
« on: April 14, 2010, 07:25:37 PM »
Hi

My Jazz is 3 months old (insurance group 5).  I was wondering if anyone out there could recommend a cheap insurer.  I've already been to some price comparison sites.  Any suggestions (apart from Adrian Flux)?

Last year I found that SwiftCover was the cheapest.

No one insurance company is going to be the cheapest for everyone.

So what I do is use the following comparsion websites that basically cover nearly all the market.

www.comparethemarket.com
www.confused.com
www.gocompare.com
www.moneysupermarket.com
http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/

Insurance is all dependant upon your age, history and where you live so will vary from place to place.

I agree with JazzyB- just do what he suggested

You should find a look at http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/compare-cheap-car-insurance helpful.

And do look at cashback sites. See http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cashback-sites-comparison/ . Checking what the market had to offer I opted to buy insurance for my new EX at the RAC (now owned by AVIVA, previously know as Norwich Union). But having found the price etc., that I wanted I went to the RAC website via Quidco and got £40.00 cashback. Today the cashback would be £45.00.

That's the way to do it!

Be careful when comparing quotes from different comparison sites. Some do not quote the total price including interest if you choose to pay monthly. I found one insurer via these sites to be cheap but I had to click on 'visit insurer's website' to get a quote based on paying monthly. Even when I got the page asking for payment details (i.e.,my debit/credit card number!) they still hadn't told me the monthly figure or overall cost based on paying monthly. So I went elsewhere.
