A nice new Jazz.
« on: September 14, 2017, 09:50:39 AM »
Dropped my car off at Great Western Honda, in Dunfermline, for some recall work and they gave me a brand new Jazz SE 1.3iVTEC manual, with less than 200 miles on the clock, as my courtesy car. I hadn't seen a 67 plate so far, and now I am driving one.
I must say that the 10 mile drive home was flawless. I brought it back along the country roads and found it incredibly smooth and the 6 speed box very flexible.
I'll report more when I return it, and have had a better chance to drive it.

So I assume you are driving round everybody you know, just to see how they are / pass on an old magazine / etc.

I've left it parked outside my garage to let the neighbours see it!

It's engine will still be a bit tight, they are even better with a few thousand miles on them.

This was what they gave me. Could do with a wash.

I am treating it as if it was my own. No thrashing from me!

I've posted on the Mk 2 mpg thread my experiences of driving 960 miles in a week. I think Honda have taken a wise decision to include a 1.5 engine in the new line up. The A30 going through Cornwall is quite hilly at times as are some other roads and the 1.4 had to be pushed a bit including dropping down to third on the dual carriageway at times.

The extra power would have been nice and I think this will widen the car's appeal. Having said I wouldn't have a Mk 3 I am now rethinking this.

I'm also rethinking my idea of getting an EV - this trip would have been an absolute mare in a Nissan Leaf. I would have had to do 15 charges and that's 7 hours on to your total travel time. If I did go the EV route, I'd hire an ICE for this type of trip.

A pal bought a Leaf, his lack of research cost him dear, he traded it in for a Jazz after eight weeks.

I know exactly what colour she's getting. Vivid Blue Pearl, complete with stone chips and some scratches!

Would be nice to know how much money he lost on the Leaf,  EV values drop faster than lead balloons (or Leafs in the Autumn).
Some people will only consider you an expert if they agree with your point of view or advice,  when you give them advice they don't like they consider you an idiot
