Title: What did you do to your car today ?
Post by: Kremmen on June 21, 2022, 08:32:47 AM
I had a job to do in the garage on Saturday so left the Jazz in the driveway.

What was that Sahara rain all about! Car looked like it had chickenpox.

Taken 2 washes to get it all off and back to pristine.

Been out with the waterless wash with wax to give it final protection.

I've driven 5 miles in the last seven days. I washed my car just over a week ago. It's covered in Saharan sand, bird crap but not the bird bombs, the little yellow spatter marks. It looks a right mess, even worse than my neighbours Mercedes A180 Estate which gets a wash once or twice a year.

I swear my car keeps cleaner in the winter!

I've washed my Crosstar for the first time since the dealer gave it a wash as part of the service last July. The sahara dust made the mucky black roof look unacceptably filthy. I should add, however, that I regularly clean the windows and door handles.

I hope there will be a nice day following the dealer service in July so that I can give the vehicle a coat of wax.

I had my wife’s car ceramic coated soon after purchase, so although it does get mucky and splattered with bird poo and saharah  sand , it easily washes off. It goes in for first service next Monday at 5000 miles so should come back sparkling.

I always ask them not to wash after service because it often comes out worse.

They leave streaks and spots as, from what I've seen, they just wipe over with a chamois to spread the water.

I take my own Vileda window cloth just to remove their windscreen test spray.
