I remember a few (20) years ago I took the family to Meribel France skiing in December. Then we had a CRV petrol auto, fully loaded with people. Whilst we were there the car was not used much and stood outside. There was an extreme drop in temp to minus 20 plus, which because the chalet heating had outside sensors, caused the heating to come on. This in turn made the chalet too warm so at minus 20, we were opening the windows to let out the heat  ??
The CRV was completely covered with frozen snow, but guess what, started first time with no problems whatsoever.
