Fuel consumption bars?
« on: May 14, 2023, 12:11:23 PM »
What does each row of these fuel consumption bars refer to please?
I've checked in the manual and online without success.

P/S great forum! Thank you for the great posts and responses, which persuaded me to sign up!

Its your last 3  'trips' in mpg measured between you powering up and powering down again. A trip may have been a long one, or forgotten because you just powered up and powered down again after a few seconds   or on a longer trip you may have stopped mid journey  and powered the car down, which would be shown as two trips.      You have to estimate a bit, 1  was about 75 mpg, 2 about 65 mpg and 3  about 68 mpg

I tend to ignore this display .Its useful if its genuine long trips and you can remember them well enough to know whether you stopped for petrol etc, . But if  for instance you power up on your driveway, and the engine starts,using some petrol ,but  you power down again without covering any actual distance   it may give a very poor and deceptive mpg figure for that particular 'trip'.  (you can also lose some leaves from your little eco tree display  ;D

Very much appreciated, M'Lord!
Don't tell me it's in the manual?!!! I keep falling asleep trying to read it!

I did have the engine start on me when I was trying to work things out (just got the car) but I'm not sure if it was within the last 3 "trips".
 I do doubt that I've achieved 75 or even 65 mpg as my average has just crept up to 60 from 56?

I dont know if, or where ,it is in the manual.  Jazzik is your man for that.  ;D  But in warm weather these mpg figures are not impossible. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Danoh, it’s quite possible you did get those mpg figures. I recently did a 26 mile trip to a local reservoir and going showed 94mpg and the return 68mpg. I got the same figures  on the same trip last summer. My average showing at the moment is 64.5 as the rest of my driving has been local and always hills to get to where I live in Huddersfield.

Thank you for responding, Jazzyone!
My car hasn't done 200 miles yet. Perhaps the mpg has improved after a few more miles.

Granted that it does no show the dashboard image, but the description is on Page 145 of 21YM owners manual under Fuel Economy and refered from page 141 as one of the driver information interface sections.

Clearly there in print!

Nothing in my "Owner's Guide", apart from these vague words;

Owner's Guide is a printed, reduced content version of the Owners Manual.

Full information is in the downloadable Owner's manual version, either on the honda.co.uk website or via the My Honda+ app.

Thank you, Steve_M!
I would never have suspected the printed Guide would have less content! It might actually be more easily readable if they had not removed anything!

Just as you have posted, here from page 146 of the 23YM Manual ;
"Shows the average fuel economy for the last three driving cycles (1-3), and the current driving cycle (0) in l/100 km or mpg.
Each time you set the power mode to ON, the display is updated, and the oldest record is deleted."

The current driving cycle makes 4 cycles displayed in total.

Overall average after 2 weeks and a first full tank refuelling shows;
Honda's metered 66.4 mpg.
Self calculated 65.7 mpg

P/S probably better to post on the "MPG" thread instead!

How do I delete a comment which I've posted?

Ask the moderator...

And as for (real) mpg: use https://www.spritmonitor.de/en/
There you also have the option to make your actual consumption visible on this forum under your avatar.

Now I know deletion isn't an individuals option I'll be much more careful in posting to avoid bothering people!

That's an interesting Consumption site, once I got past the first page, not understanding German!

The easiest thing is just to modify the post,deleting it all  except one character such as a full stop, or add a brief explanation such as 'duplicate post'. It still appears, but doesnt waste time      Been there, done that ,both modifications  and wasting peoples time    :-[
