One of the deal makers for me was the clever absense of a gearbox in an auto car after reading so many bad experiences of eg VW autos.

On 'classic car garage' on 'yesterday' channel the other night I was quite amused to watch a relatively young auto electrician trying to get  out of the passenger seat of a Lamborghini Diablo.  He almost had to roll out of the seat onto the ground then stand up.
How the rather well padded  owner of the car manages I dont know.

Who owns a Lamborghini Diablo (should be a VT Roadster or Invencible and Auténtica to keep the operation somewhat simple...) probably also has this service available:

I seem to recall a Ford? advert that had someone dressed up like the Michelin man to show them testing how difficult entry and exit was during design phase.
Let's be careful out there !

It's a neat little car but my COPD has got much worse over the last 6 months. I will have to back to an SUV to make getting in and out easier.
New model coming out, EV based on HRV, you can register your interest in the link below:

Which ‘couple of inches’ is that?

According to the latest Jazz specs, the Crosstar ground clearance is only 14mm (0.55 inches) higher, when fully loaded, than a normal Jazz.
The unloaded difference is only 10mm.
This means that the seat height differences will be similar.

I think people tend to look at the overall height difference, which of course includes the roof rails on the Crosstar.

The difference in (overall) height is 30 mm = 1.181 in (to be exact ;)).
And that includes the roof rails...

Honda Jazz: L x W x H: 4044 x 1694 x 1526 mm
Honda Jazz Crosstar: L x W x H: 4105 x 1725 x 1556 mm

I think you will find that the ride height between the Jazz and the Crosstar is only 30mm

I’m sorry but the specifications say differently, the Crosstar is only between 10mm & 14mm higher, depending on loading. Hardly worth the extra money?

I had Capturs before the Jazz, and wanted if possible to retain that height overlooking the road. Unfortunately, neither the Jazz nor Crosstar came close to this when I test drove them. I also tried the Yaris Cross, which did... but the inner cabin space and storage didn't match the Jazz, and ultimately the reason I wanted to change was the new Captur was outwardly too big, which is the same for the Yaris Cross now too. I may have lost that ride height, but gained in so many other ways.

Whatever the measurements say the extra ride height in the Crosstar is noticeable to someone like me who has arthritis, I've never had a car so easy to get in and out of.
