Rear view camera - still standard fit on Crosstar?
« on: January 22, 2022, 01:39:15 PM »
Just looking at the Honda U.K. website and under “Key Features “ for the Crosstar it clearly does NOT have a rear view camera. Further down on the same page, when expanding specific features, it shows it does have one. Thoughts, anyone?

When I last checked with Honda the Crossbar did have a rear view camera as standard. However worth checking with Honda UK before ordering - use the web chat feature on the Honda website.

They seem to get their features wrong on many spec sheets - perhaps to make the higher models look better value?

When I was looking to buy my car, the spec sheet seemed to suggest that it was only the EX that got apple carplay/android auto - whereas many models have them as standard.

My dealer had the spec showing the nearside door mirror auto dipped when reversing.

Let's be careful out there !

I'm sure all Crosstars have the reversing camera, it's part of the EX spec

Definitely says no on UK Honda website, it may be they changed the spec, but I can’t imagine why if existing Crosstar have one. I’m waiting for my local dealer to have a demo for me to test drive, will report back then  :)

Due to the ‘chip’ shortage other manufacturers are dropping optional cameras - perhaps Honda have the same issue. I am on a Range Rover Velar forum and cars are being delivered without the specified cameras or orders are being pushed out to 9 months if the cameras are insisted on.

You could be right, the rear view camera now looks to be removed from the EX spec too, I could have sworn it was still listed when I looked yesterday…

I thought the Honda drive recorder made use of the rear camera?

If so then the drive recorder is now only front facing.
Let's be careful out there !

Drive recorder?! I checked and saw that it's an optional extra.

On the Honda website it’s only the Key features section that omitted the rear camera. In the full specification under function and technology it shows that both EX and Crosstar have reversing cameras.

On the Polish Honda website the Key features section as well as specific features, (still?) show that both EX and Crosstar have reversing cameras.

Yes - perhaps they knew they were going to drop rear cameras. In the marketing material it says rear recording but only *where a rear camera is fitted.

The dealer I am speaking to to arrange the test drive, just said it is standard on the Crosstar still, so I let him know I was querying as the Honda website says it isn’t in the Key features - at least it will prompt someone to look into it - might all be a recent development as someone else said, or just a plain old error  :)

Or maybe they remembered that the SR and SE don't have a rear camera?  :D
