Squeak/chirp when taking foot off accelerator
« on: May 03, 2023, 10:23:34 PM »
Bought a 2006 1.4 manual petrol today and noticed it has a slight chirp/squeak when taking foot off the accelerator. it only chirps once each time and does it only when coming off the accelerator. Anyone else have this issue or any ideas what it could be?
thanks in advance

It could be the linkage needs to be lubricated.

What linkage would that be?

Also forgot to mention the noise is coming from the engine bay and not from the pedal

There is a short cable that goes from the pedal to the top of the rocker cover where the throttle position sensor is, check that.
