Well I'll be buggered! The first Japanese car I buy and now I find it was made in China. :-[
Whatever next - Dundee cake made in Swansea?  ;)

Almost all of the small Japanese cars have been moved outside of Japan for export models to the UK:

  • Jazz - China
  • Micra - UK but going to India in the future
  • Yaris - France
  • Mazda2 - Now made in Japan but the old model was built in Spain alongside the Ford Fiesta/Fusion
  • Suzuki Swift & SVX - Hungary
  • Mitsubishi Colt - Holland (the Nedcar plant which used to make the Volvo 300/DAF cars)

  • My Honda: 2009 1.4 EX Manual - gone to a family member. Still look after it, and a 2014 EX driven by daughter.

It's difficult to find anything NOT made in China these days. Quality should be fine. No way would Honda comprimise their reputation which is for superb quality.

I would't mind so much if it was sold at "Chinese" pricing, but we're still being asked to pay the price as if it was Japanese built!
