Learning to drive in New York.
« on: March 30, 2023, 11:20:52 AM »
I watch Ashley Neal's videos on YouTube. He is a UK ADI who posts educational videos for drivers (you can never stop learning).
The video I found last night is the first of two in NY where he goes out with a local driving school to see how they do it over there. So many things they do differently from here. Instead of Mirror, Signal, Manoeuvre they do Signal, Mirror, Manoeuvre. They also turn the wheel with the car stationary instead of creeping first.
The car he is in is automatic and at lights etc, he is taught to remain in drive, foot on the brake and no handbrake!
The entire city of New York has a 25 mph blanket speed limit (20 mph passing schools). This is not just in the busy parts of the city.
I found the video very interesting and I have posted a link below. I cannot wait for him to post Part 2 (change that. Part 2 has just gone up as I type).
