First Car Jazz I VTEC 2014 ( Gong noise?)
« on: March 27, 2023, 08:22:42 PM »
I finally got my first Car a 2014 Jazz I VTEC 1.4 with the sat Nav.

I've yet to receive my handbook which I was told would be posted to me separately?

Been to work in it today and noticed this gong noise through the speakers , like a digital tower of London bell noise. I have no idea what it is or what it means and can't find all that much on the forum either.

Not seen anything flash up on the sat Nav either ( I hadn't set it to a route.)

Any idea ( is it a camera warning ? ) I don't get notifications flash up on the sat nav to confirm .

Thankyou

Could be handbrake not released fully,or seatbelt not attached correctly
But this is just a guess on my part.
Hope it helps

We have a 2018 EX Navi and had a few of these noises on the motorway last Saturday. Shortly afterwards I ran into congested traffic. From memory of this issue, I think it's something to do with the traffic system warning of an issue, even though you don't have the navigation system running.

Usually it's the "Gong of impending Doom" means if you choose drive under an overpass on the motorway an 18 wheeler above will do a dive.. to you.

Besides that just do a quick glance to the dash and the tiny infoscreen. At me it usually tells that the temp has dropped to 3 deg C and is a warning for icy roads... The symbol on the info screen shows up just very briefly then display returns to normal. (GONG!!!!)

(And fo shu stop use "all seasons" tires.. it might "gong" for that too...)
