Middle console is loose
« on: December 30, 2017, 05:51:51 PM »
Hi there,
I bought an used Honda Jazz and the middle console is loose. You can move it. There's one hole at each side but no bolt or whatsoever. Does anyone knows which bolt I need?

See attachment.

Thanks in advance! :)

The screws in centre and rear of console (one in bottom of cup holder in rear of console as well) IIRC are self tappers about 10mm long and 4 or 5 mm diameter,  they screw into  clips. Check a screw from the centre or rear of console,  I bet front will be the same, japs normally use same screws where possible.

Thanks!

Hmmzz I tried, but didn't fit.
I made some pictures. Maybe someone knows what should be inside these holes?

there is usually something like these spring clips pushed over the metal lip and the screw goes through the hole as well as the spring clip - previous owner may well have broken them or broken one somewhere else and decided to use the console ones instead.

That hole takes a slightly different clip to that found in most other places except for a couple of places in the boot.  It looks like this picture and is just a friction fit.  They are quite hard work to remove without chewing them up with pliers.
Possibly one of the more usual centre-pin type clips may also fit,  "car trim clip" on eBay will get you a bag full from China for £1

I think you must have the manual stored on your computer or a disk, and were trying to link to that.

My link is the same page, but on the 'net.

The Halfords in the Netherlands is close to bankruptcy.

I will try to find something similar on Ebay.
I just made a photo which will hopefully get me in the right direction for the correct trim panel button :)

EDIT:
Maybe this one?
