reverse audible warning sound
« on: August 11, 2019, 12:38:17 PM »
Honda Jazz I shift 59 MkII.
My audible beeping sound has begun to sound like a muted cat.  I works but is not as robust as it should be.  Any ideas??

Are you talking about beeping, audible to pedestrians, as you reverse? Similar to what is fitted to trucks?

Aren't external audible reverse warning beeps illegal on cars?

They are, hence my question. I don't know of any other audible warning Paul could be referring to.

I agree,it should have been pretty obvious in the first place.

As to the original question, I imagine it is the bit that actually makes the sound. I had one on an oven timer that after ten years would be quiet one day and too loud the next. But it did outlive the rest of the oven, so it may not be about to die altogether..
If that is it I expect the only fix is to replace the unit. I don't know how difficult or expensive that might be though.

Or is it? What do you think?

Hi All.
Of course I mean the audible warning sound INSIDE the car when one is reversing.  I'll expand - when reversing
the sensors on the outside will activate when the car reaches an object adjacent.  The noise I hear used to be pretty loud but now is a weak mouse like whimper.

Look for a small unit in the boot area probably under one of the side plastic shelves, I imagine you will find a small plastic electronic beep box which is easily replaced
