No time to watch regularly, but much preferred to have TV on without sound, 1 HR prog = 15-20 mins spanner work. Have met Mike Brewer good bloke.

Just watched it for the first time after reading your post. Brilliant. Super professional and Jonny is a great, affable presenter. He does stuff for Fully Charged as well. I will certainly watch more episodes.

I'm glad that you enjoyed it! I especially like the variety of his programmes. He did a great review of the Honda E when that was released (I appreciate some time ago now!). It made me really want one!

I have watched the first two episodes of Fifth Gear - Recharged. It's alright as motoring shows go, some of the presenters are quite entertaining and so I will continue with it. Although the car press (both TV and magazines) in general need to stop peddling this idea that electric cars are the answer. The future will require a mix of electric, petrol, diesel and other fuel sources (such as hydrogen). Electric isn't for everyone and never will be, no matter how much the EU and government try to push the agenda (remember that diesel was pushed in the early noughties, and look what happened with that). ICE cars will be on the roads for decades to come.

I watched the latest Recharged Civic review and my impression was they weren't reviewing it for day to day use but as a racing car.

They aren't alone as a lot of TV reviews are based on performance not say commuting comfort or ease of driving.

None of the tv shows give everyday cars decent reviews.

...Youtube usually provides better everyday reviews than the TV!

Both 'The Late Brake Show' and 'Harry's Garage' on YouTube both provide real-world (and enjoyable) car reviews.

And I agree about the recent Honda Civic (11th gen) review on Fifth Gear Recharged. Almost all of the motoring press have been singing the praises of this new model but I thought the Fifth Gear lot were testing the car in situations that were not representative of day-to-day driving and seem somewhat indifferent about it.

Johnny Smith on his Late Brake Show visits a massive bang upto date car recycling centre.

Includes a Tesla tear down. Interesting stuff.

I watched Channel 5 of EVs. Started with back to back tests of Porsche EV vs petrol.
Totally unimpressed.
Schoolboy mentality.
Not real world,
AWFUL.
