According to the Honda owner's manual, 3.8 litres to change, 5.4 total.
-
A change without flushing is approx 2.5L

Figures I quoted are rubbish. Coolant capacities not transmission.
Transmission is 3.2 and 5.4. Perhaps the Mk 1 has a different transmission from the Mk 2.

cheers guys, im wondering if i get the engine super hot i can just try a single flush as its only a split second judder when pulling off, hell its the wifes car and she hasn't felt it yet ::) she only knows colours ;D

I would just do the one, then, if it is not cleared, you have the option to do the second later.

ive read a few ways now but once the fluid is back in, do i just sit in the car start it put foot on brake and go through the gears ? read about going for a drive and get upto 40mph then foot off ac and drop down to 20mph ?
thank you for advising do appreciate it

Personally, I would just drive it for a few days of normal use then again, if needed, change it after a run and while hot. Sitting stationary is not going to get the oil up to operating temperature, however you do it. Especially at this time of the year.

I'd like to thank everyone on here for the advice. Did a 40minuite journey and motorway driving, Within 5 mins I'd got it on my mini ramps cranked the plug and emptied the sump, seemed just over 3litres, so I topped the surplus litre I had in the 4litre tub and did a mini flush. Topped up and tbh it seems to have cured the judder, drives great now. Was easy and saved me a lot of money.
Now for the exhaust lol.
Cheers guys really appreciate it. Feeling confident now lol
