Title: Access to Menu for HDMI setting
Post by: guest6862 on May 09, 2017, 09:17:42 PM
Hello, I can read here of - holding  down power+home+eject to access a hidden menu... And see it done on YouTube but it isn't working for me... I either get the Task Manager or the CD ejected but no menu...

Can anyone please help?
Thanks.

I assume you are trying this: (http://clubjazz.org/forum/index.php?topic=7725.msg36895#msg36895)

> hold down power+home+eject
> choose 'detail information & setting'
> hold 'menu' until new menu appears
> choose 'vehicle model information'
> many options for tinkering but 'DD VSP Error' can be turned off
> now HDMI input works while driving

Are you doing this from powered off?

Thanks for replying - yes trying that. Power is on, from different screens including with a feed from the HDMI input.

Try doing as you have done but starting from the "Android" screen ie the one accessed by tapping the six dots on the home screen. Worked for me when I was using HDMI

Don't you wish for the days when all you had to do was set the points!

I thought the signal man set the points!

Most here will not remember the days, before electronic ignition, when you had to set the point in the distributor. Now you cannot do anything to car electrics without software, a computer, and a science degree!

Plus setting the timing and stripping the carburettor to clean the jets and needle after dirty petrol. ::)

Tried from Android screen,  and with engine running and off - but still no joy.

Either I am missing something or maybe the access has changed.

Try holding Menu+Power+Brightness from the Android screen

Yep, and then keep pressed the menu button for some seconds, you will open another hidden menu.

From the Haynes manual for the Austin Metro:

"..first drain down the cooling system as described in chapter..X...and remove the radiator."

No, not really. I don't miss it.

Mind you if you had thin hands you could gap a Metro without all that hassle but it wasn't easy. The last few models had an optical distributor I think so gapping no longer needed.
