Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Oil
« Last post by DERMOT on Today at 05:49:37 PM »
Honda type 2 0 20.  https://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk  GENUINE HONDA 0W20 TYPE 2.0 SYNTHETIC ENGINE OIL 4 LITRES
That is what local Honda dealer sold me.  £50 / 4 litre ( and intakes just under 4 ltrs)

Others have stated Honda dealer use Morris https://www.morrislubricants.co.uk 0 20

Castro edge has Honda approved.  logo.  Castrol EDGE Titanium Professional H 0W-20 (Honda)

Honda Ireland lists a hybrid oil not just 020, Honda green oil. But not sure That This is up-to-date.
https://www.honda.ie/page/209/honda-genuine-oils-lubricants

For 0 20 oil, the Honda oil from Honda dealer is at most £10 more than I could see other brands including eurocarparts qx
Believe that it is SN grade that is required, so there are many choices.

Honda Jazz Mk1 2002-2008 / Power loss
« Last post by Sharon on Today at 05:17:35 PM »
Hi all. A couple of weeks ago i started noticing a power loss in second gear. Basically pushing on the accelerator would yield more revs than torque. I can hammer the revs to get enough speed to change to third, but same thing happens in third. Going downhill i am ok but going uphill is a nightmare. Also noticed yesterday on a.long straight road that i can only get the car to around 60 max. Whars happening? Have i blown a gasket??

Off Topic (Non-Honda) / Hose pipe ban
« Last post by Pine on Today at 04:53:54 PM »
When the hose pipe ban starts will I be able to use a hose pipe to fill a watering can?  My back garden is tiered with large pots on the top tier.  Perhaps i'll get clarification on the water authority website once the ban comes into force.

....that prompted me to palm her Jazz off onto our other son-in-law and get her a VW Tiguan.

A woman did swipe the mirror off it not long ago - as it happened I was driving in on the lane on that occasion and it was 8.30AM so people were rushing on the school run etc.

A Tiguan is about 12 to 15 cm. wider (depending on year of manufacture) than a 2014 Jazz.
In the Jazz, the mirror was probably/possibly not swiped off...  ;D

I must admit that it was my wife's increasinlgy frequent travel down an awkward (it's mostly 2 cars wide but narrows to 1.5 cars wide in places and people seem to think that you can and should magically get out of their way) country lane between our village and the one where one of our daughters lives that prompted me to palm her Jazz off onto our other son-in-law and get her a VW Tiguan.

Regarding write-offs and loan cars - that threw us when daughter's Golf was written off in 2018 at the height of the WLTP car shortages.  We live in quite a rural area and don't have a spare car in family so it puts you under a lot of pressure to get something sorted.  As it happened a SEAT dealer loaned her a car pending delivery of a new Ateca, which they sold her at a very good price.  Very helpful of them, but the dealer has otherwise been terrible.

Honda Jazz Mk4 2020 - / Re: Boot light
« Last post by Kremmen on Today at 03:53:44 PM »
I've got the LED boot light. The official Honda one. Well worth the change, makes a difference.

I've not had the boot open an hour though so that'll be why it stayed lit.

I didn't notice how long before the light went off but the boot would have been open for more than an hour while I looked for items to load.

This is the LED bulb https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/382894921689 . The price is for 10 so I've got some left over! The pack cost only £3.95 two years ago. Significantly brighter than the supplied bulb as well as using less power. I also changed the reversing light bulbs to these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114467956864 for better illumination.

Hopefully I won't have any issue but if they tried to fob me off I'd be straight onto Which? Legal.

I've been a paid member for many years and only used them once and that got me a full refund very quickly when they got involved.

They specialise in faulty goods and the law.

Our seat sides should not be cracking in such a short time and especially as this part is never touched or brushed against. It's clearly not fit for purpose on those with issues.

I've had no repeat issue over the last week despite some long drives and hot weather. Will report back if it reoccurs.

Honda Jazz Mk2 2008-2015 / Re: Noise when accelerating.
« Last post by ssashton on Today at 03:01:49 PM »
The injectors may excite a resonance in the engine block at specific timing instances. There are two factors that would play - timing of the injection and duration of the injection. Seems like longer duration injection is louder because the noise is stronger at high load.

I did consider it might be cam springs - high cam lift at specific RPM.  But I already checked and set the gap tollerrance on mine and it made no noticeable difference.

Would be interesting to know if the motor made these noises when new. I bought mine used.
