Never had to top up any of our Honda cars between oil changes despite them all (except current jazz and civic) doing over 100,000 miles - my first Civic (1996) did about 190,000 without any work on engine other than cambelt replacement, no work at all on gearbox or wheel bearings. Rear brake shoes replaced at just over 100k, exhaust lasted 140k. In fact it never once let me down and only consumable parts like brake disc and pads, spark plugs, battery - still had original clutch and alternator and starter motor when I traded it in.
