Jazz Mk 3 - Can the alarm be disabled when going on a ferry?
« on: April 22, 2016, 06:36:00 PM »
Hi all! I'm new to the forum and also new to a Jazz Mk3 SE Navi. Still getting used to it but one issue is bothering me. I quite often travel by car ferry and drivers are always advised to turn off their car alarms in case rough seas set it off and then the battery goes flat. In a VW Golf I used to have, there was a switch on the B-post for doing this but I can't find any way of doing it in the Jazz.

Could any experienced ferrygoer help me out?

Cheers!

I used to have a Mk 2 jazz and am a regular user of Isle of Wight ferries.
My alarm on the Jazz, and my Civic have never gone off  no matter how choppy the sea is.
Mk 2 Jazz only had a perimeter alarm, which means entry via doors , tailgate or bonnet will set the alarm off, my Civic is the same.
The alarms that go off on ferries are one with a movement sensor- I don't think the Mk 3 Jazz has this, and you can check by rocking the car/kicking tyres with the alarm set. If it doesn't go off it will be OK on the ferry. :)
