When I  went to a dealer this afternoon he offered a couple of extra,s which added to the price. What were they?

Most common extras are GAP insurance, paint protection (ie Supergard or similar) and smart repair insurance. However my dealer also  has a "Delivery Pack" option which includes Supergard, floor mats,  mudguards and a full tank of fuel. I pointed out to him that the Honda OTR prices also include the full tank of fuel and I was not going to pay twice for it! In the end I negotiated a favourable price for just Supergard and rubber floor mats.

Both my local Toyota, and Honda dealers, include upholstery and paint protection, at £250 each!  :o

I saved around £3,000, buying online.......  ;)

the sales persons do get comission for pushing these products to customers
so dont be under the illusion they are doing something for you
its their comission they are thinking about

Ask the salesman to forget the extras and reduce the price by another £300, good luck with your purchase.

Maybe the best thing would have been to have asked him. ::)

Yeah my dealer GAP insurance was £395.  It was included in my insurance but only for one year and was not extendible.

Most motor insurance gives one year on a brand new car but you can extend it up to five years with specialist GAP insurance companies just put GAP insurance into Google.

Hi,
Just to let you know that we offer a product called Total Loss Protection. Whilst its not exactly the same as your traditional GAP product we feel for some customers it can offer a cost effective alternative. If anyone would like any further information then please feel free to drop me a line.
Regards,
Dan.
