Scratched windscreen
« on: August 12, 2014, 05:19:17 PM »
The windscreen on my 63 plate 1.2 S has become scratched. Its an arc (following the wiper path) on the passenger side. It was caused I think, by a small piece of road chipping that had seemingly trapped itself under the blade.
Its not a deep scratch, looks quite superficial, but quite noticeable from the inside.
I've tried Autoglym glass polish, but its not shifting it.
As I say, its not deep...can't feel anything if I rub a finger or fingernail across it

Anyone know of a product that will "smooth out" the scratch?

You could try asking autoglass or whoever your insurer uses. They might do it for 'free' on your policy. The trouble with trying to rub out the scratch is the compound might 'dull' the surrounding area. Toothpaste?
