Just Bought 52 Plate Jazz, SRS Light Lit
« on: December 13, 2008, 11:15:30 AM »
I bought a Jazz with 103k on the clock for just under 2k (52 plate) and drove it yesterday, apart from a whine in low gears (1st/2nd) nothing was wrong. Today I've collected and noticed that the SRS light is lit on the dash.

The manual advises to have the system looked at immediately - is there potentially a problem and should the trader be responsible for taking care of it?

Although I say I did not notice it, that does not mean it wasn't on, but it was not brought to my attention (which thankfully the noise in low gears was).

Suggest you return the car and ask to seller/garage to fix the fault.

The SRS light indicates a seat belt problem easliy solved when connected to the Honda test instrument, it may even be a faulty connection.

Safety is key
Best of Luck

I am guessing that in cleaning the car, they have disturbed the seatbelt pretensioners. I had this problem years ago with my Rover 220.
