If Honda asked me what the new Jazz should be about...
« on: November 30, 2008, 11:04:41 PM »

I am a little disappointed with the new 2009 Jazz.  I think Honda could have done a better job in developing the replacement to the gd series (2002 - 2008) as I feel they have missed an opportunity.  As a day to day user, here are a few of my suggestions for improvements that should have been focused on:

  • More compliant ride,
  • Quieter ride,
  • More supportive seats particularly in the front,
  • Faster accelerating,
  • More entertaining handling,
  • Less prone to misting windows,
  • Parcel shelf that moves up and out of the way when opening the boot,
  • Accessible spare tyre when there is stuff in the boot.

Values to have kept:

  • Practical seat space both in the back and the front (not as much knee space in the new 2009 version),
  • Quality interior materials,
  • Proper headrests in the back,
  • Exterior size.

I'd be interested in your views on this list.

Well, you kinda get the accessible 'spare' in the form of the tyre repair kit. :o And I've heard the new one rides much better.

PS. I thought the new Jazz had a tradtional hatchback-style parcel shelf? :-\

I agree about the material quality on the new Jazz....a bit of a step backwards, although the actual fit and finish is upto standard.
