I am a little disappointed with the new 2009 Jazz. I think Honda could have done a better job in developing the replacement to the gd series (2002 - 2008) as I feel they have missed an opportunity. As a day to day user, here are a few of my suggestions for improvements that should have been focused on:
- More compliant ride,
- Quieter ride,
- More supportive seats particularly in the front,
- Faster accelerating,
- More entertaining handling,
- Less prone to misting windows,
- Parcel shelf that moves up and out of the way when opening the boot,
- Accessible spare tyre when there is stuff in the boot.
Well, you kinda get the accessible 'spare' in the form of the tyre repair kit.
And I've heard the new one rides much better.
PS. I thought the new Jazz had a tradtional hatchback-style parcel shelf?
Values to have kept:
- Practical seat space both in the back and the front (not as much knee space in the new 2009 version),
- Quality interior materials,
- Proper headrests in the back,
- Exterior size.
I agree about the material quality on the new Jazz....a bit of a step backwards, although the actual fit and finish is upto standard.
