Wing mirror glass wobbly on motorway
« on: October 21, 2021, 03:58:38 PM »
Hi need some help on fixing a wobbly near side wing mirror glass. The glass and fixing frame moves not the mirror housing. Works on electric mirror adjustment, but is loose on backing plate. Is there a way of removing the mirror glass to check fixings. It’s a 2012 Mk 2 jazzEX.Any help gratefully received.

if you use the motor to get the mirror high on one side then you can gently get a screwdriver in and pop it off as it is on a plastic circle mount and has a spade clip for the heater element so it wont drop to the floor if you dont catch it

You've posted in the Mk3 section, but 'monkeydave' has posted some good advice.

Most electric mirror systems are similar, but I would advise wrapping a screwdriver (or whatever tool you use) in a soft cloth to soften the impact when prising the mirror glass away from the 'ball' holder.
