Gearbox issue
« on: February 02, 2019, 04:18:42 PM »
Hi all 2011 Jazz 75.000 mls
Don't know if anyone has had a issue like this sometimes wont select 1st gear without double de clutching  and sometimes wont select unless you give a harder than normal push to select
Reverse gear engages mostly 1st time but other times release clutch and try again works ok . trying to move out of reverse to neutral sometimes wont budge .... unless you turn of engine then its no problem it shifts out of reverse gear no bother .. the clutch aint to old in mileage covered around 50.000 mls
any thoughts most welcome

That is the symptom of clutch not disengaging fully or possibly tick over too fast

Check the clutch clearance. Clutch free play 6 - 20 mm at the clutch push rod.

As suggested, that's the symptoms of clutch drag - i.e. clutch not completely disengaging.

Check pedal free play is ok, as above. If pumping the clutch several times improves matters at all, bleed the clutch hydraulics and replace the fluid. If you have no joy with that, could have a faulty clutch damper (if fitted) or faulty clutch cover plate.

Could also be the signs of the clutch realease baring starting to wear.
