Help, Newbie here.
« on: August 21, 2018, 08:02:53 PM »
Hi,

I need your advice guys.

I am about to pick up a used Jazz from a Honda Dealer. My question is, who will settle the road tax? Do I pay for it there before taking the car or do will the dealer settle that beforehand. Mind you, the vehicle has been paid for and I have paid for my own insurance coverage.

Road Tax cannot be transferred, so when I picked up my Honda the dealer did the taxation, on my behalf, before I left the forecourt, and I paid with my debit card.

I see. Hopefully, it will be the same with mine. By the way, did they give you a v5 with your name as the owner upon collection?

I was given the part of the V5, which is handed over to the new owner, duly completed. The new V5C arrived from DVLA within a fortnight. I was then able to transfer my personal reg over.
