Boot Measurement
« on: August 19, 2018, 07:25:02 PM »
Hi all.

Have owned a couple of mk Jazz's in the past which I absolutely loved.

I would love a new mk3 Sport if I can convince the missus!! :)

Before I drag her to a dealership I would have to convince her that one would be big enough for us and our 5 year old son, luggage wise that is if we holiday in the UK.

I Couldnt find any info online, so could I ask a massive favour from one of you mk3 owners please??

Would some body mind measuring the internal size of the boot please. Width, Height to top of rear seat and Depth.

Thank you so much for your help and comments! :)

Clarkie.

The Mk3 boot area is about the same as a Mk2. However you lose the convenient spare wheel area. Honda provide a polystyrene filler and if you remove it you'll find that not only is it no longer carpeted but it isn't painted either. Plus the boot floor is now only flimsy hardboard and without the filler won't support any significant weight.

Oh that seems strange doesn't it!

So would the boot floor take the weight of a couple of suit cases?

You have the best website already for your question I think but car dimension sizes reminded me of a site I bookmarked. Might be useful to someone.

With the polystyrene filler in place (or a spare wheel), sure. But unsupported, no. I carry a golf bag in mine and had to reinforce it. Apparently Honda no longer think we should be using that under floor area for storage. A curious omission in my view given that the Jazz is often sold on the basis of offering a lot of storage and they don't provide a spare wheel unless you choose to pay extra for it.

But if you're happy to leave the filler in place there will be no problem.

When I changed from a Mk2 to a Mk 3, I found the Mk 3 boot to be rather shorter front to back, but deeper to the parcel shelf.  I think they increased the legroom in the rear seats by slightly shortening the boot.

Do it!
You know you want to.
 ;)
I'm not even 2 months in and I'm absolutely loving mine.
It has to be IMHO the most sensible balance between space and performance going.

+1

I would add economy to that, the tiny turbo engines have apalling fuel consumption in real life driving.

I really do want to, but if I buy one now I could be heading for a divorce!!

Where do I sign for a new Sport Jazz??  :D
