Any looking after your Honda Jazz tips?
« on: June 08, 2018, 07:47:38 AM »
Beyond the servicing (got 5 year plan) what is the best practice to look after the car in anyway eg best polish, frequency of polish, oiling exposed body work screws, keep inside clean (got supaguard) etc etc ?

Anything to keep the jazz in the best condition for long term.

I just got my Mk3 Jazz  8) . So just thinking of monthly routine. I dont want to be anal or spend more time than necessary but if I can keep on top of things then it'll hopefully maintain its look and value "down the road".

Congratulations on your new car.

One thing worth doing is to carefully inspect  the wheels  each time you wash the car for any damage (eg stone chips) to the lacquer coat and repair with a dab of clearcoat from the Honda Touch-up Pencil kit. This should help prevent moisture getting between the lacquer and the diamond cut surfaces. However once moisture gets in it will start corrosion below the lacquer coat and a wheel refurb would be needed to restore the original finish.

Hand wash using two bucket method and grit guards in buckets. Micro fibre wash mitt. I use rinseless wash and a microfibre towel to dry.

clearcoat from the Honda Touch-up Pencil kit.

Got a link for this? I had a quick scan and didn't see it. Maybe it comes with a colour?

Yes just buy the touch up kit for your colour from your Honda dealer. Kit contains a paint pencil and a clearcoat one.
